My name is Colleen Losh and I am fundraising money for my former co-worker Rob (Robert Emerson). He is the Lead Custodian at Clark Elementary School in Issaquah School District. We worked together at Clark and I had the honor of getting to know him better. I had a great appreciation for Rob because my dad was a custodian and I know how hard Rob works. Rob was so kind and helpful to me as I entered a new school district and school. We became close over our love for cats. My students all loved Rob! We made him cards and signs often because they loved him and appreciated all that he did for them. Everyday he would say hi to them, wave to them and greet them. It made their days.

On May 7th, Rob was working his usual shift and began to have severe pain. This is a man that does not complain. So for him to say something was huge. An ambulance was called and he was rushed to Overlake Hospital. He had a 100% blockage of one of his arteries. He remained in the ICU. They began surgery a few days later to put in a stint in the blocked artery. They had to wait a few days after that to let his heart heal before doing a second surgery to put in a second stint. For this procedure, he needed to be fully awake. While doing the procedure the artery ruptured and his heart stopped twice. They preformed CPR for 20 minutes. He suffered from 2 broken ribs but they were able to revive him.

Rob is healing and is up and walking. He is on his road to recovery. He is not out of the woods yet. He is still being watched closely and having complications. He has been in the hospital for 10 days at this point and still has more recovery to do before they will send him home. With medical bills stacking up and his family doing everything they can to support him, I am asking for your support. Rob is the kindest, most selfless and giving person. He has 2 sons and wife who are at his side. His wife is a school cook at Challenger Elementary School in Issaquah School District. She has been unable to work as she supports Rob and is by his side. Rob's cat Leo is at home waiting for his best friend to come back and be by his side. Him and Leo are inseparable.
