For those of you that do not know Rob’s story….he was born with a club foot. His right foot was not completely formed. It is actually two whole shoe sizes smaller than his left foot. He was 6 months old when he had his first surgery and would go on to have 2 more surgeries by the time he turned 11 years old. That was his last.
Now, 30 years later and after many jobs that required him to be on his feet doing manual labor, the ligaments & tendons have deteriorated. January 2025 during our crazy, Houston winter storm he slipped on some ice and had a really bad sprain. It took three x-rays and an MRI to find that he has torn ligaments & arthritis.
This will require surgery. He will undergo a grafted ligament repair surgery to fix and attach the ligaments on the lateral side of the ankle. They'll also clean out the arthritis from the wear & tear from years on his already unstable foot.
Recovery will be 2 weeks non-weight bearing, followed by about 4 weeks in a boot then physical therapy for another 6-8 weeks in a brace.
The family really needs your prayers, along with financial help to cover the expense of this surgery. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
