Hello, friends, family, and kind strangers,
My name is Rayon Calvert, and I'm 54 years old. A couple of weeks ago, my world turned upside down when I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a fast-moving form of blood cancer that requires immediate and aggressive treatment. Right now, I'm in the hospital completing my first round of chemotherapy, and while it's been tough physically and emotionally, I'm staying positive and hopeful about the road ahead. I've always been an optimist, and with the support of my incredible medical team, family, and faith, I believe I can beat this.
AML came out of nowhere. I started feeling unusually fatigued, had some unexplained swelling and pain, and after many different emergency room visits and a lot of tests, the diagnosis hit hard. The good news is that the doctors are hopeful, and chemo is the first step in fighting back. But as anyone who's been through this knows, cancer doesn't just affect your health, it impacts every part of your life, including finances. Between hospital stays, medications, potential future treatments like stem cell transplants, lost wages from being unable to work, and everyday bills piling up, the stress is overwhelming. I'm not one to ask for help easily, but right now, any support would mean the world and allow me to focus fully on healing without the constant worry.
Your generosity will help cover medical expenses not fully covered by insurance, travel for specialist appointments, and basic living costs during my recovery. Even small donations add up, and sharing this campaign with your network could make a huge difference.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my story and for any help you can provide. Let's turn this challenge into a victory I'm fighting, and with you in my corner, I know we can win.
