PLEASE PRAY FOR RAINEY SHEA

Hi, I am Lee Rodney, and I am posting this on behalf of Lauren Justus. She is not typically a sharer of her personal life details; however, she received the news that no parent ever wants to hear- “your 4-year-old child has cancer, & it’s metastasized”.

Lauren's words:

Rainey complained of a tummy ache on Wednesday, by Friday she’s admitted to the cancer ward at Egleston Children’s Hospital. Wednesday night, the ER doctor told me to go home and follow up with her pediatrician. She was eating & functioning normally. I insisted on an Ultrasound & later recognize this as God’s directing. The doctor was visibly upset as he told me about the 10cm tumor they saw in her kidney. He thanked me for pushing him. 5 hours later an Oncologist is telling me that the cancer is also in her lungs. My sweet girl. She doesn’t deserve this. We know she’ll have her kidney and the tumor removed in a couple days and will have a port implanted for her Chemotherapy. She’ll likely need Radiation as well.

Currently she has little pain but has started showing symptoms at an aggressive rate. Fortunately, I can say this hospital is a blessing. The staff is wonderful, and there are many distractions for a kid to have fun & forget why they’re here.

All this to say PLEASE PRAY FOR RAINEY SHEA. She tells me every hour “I just want to go home”. It breaks my momma heart. We believe God makes good of all things, and he has a greater plan than our own. My hope in sharing this is for as many prayers be lifted for Rainey as possible. That’s the best way you can help us. I am so grateful for my work family, friends, family, and even strangers that have prayed for Rainey, shared words of encouragement, and met any need that we could have not even foreseen having. Thank you so much!

We trust in God’s plan and know that He is with us every step of the way. However, the financial burden of medical bills, travel for treatments, and daily expenses are overwhelming.
