WELL THAT DIDNT GO
AS FUCKING PLANNED
-A short story
Humbled by any support,
assistance and help
For Rachel/Rakl during
of this time into the unknown
I have been living in constant chronic pain for quite a while, being a strong stubborn woman I just dealt with it but eventually I could no longer run my own business. Take care of my family, or be a part of my local community. Jaundice set in April, yellow skin and eyes. I had to go to the ER multiple times and was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. More tests and blood draws and labs, procedures, meds over a month and a half. I have been in and out of 3 hospitals with a diagnosis being TERMINAL. I found my way into one of the top transplant hospitals in the country with multiple drs advocating to get me on the transplant list dispite some complications. IM FIGHTING TIME now. TIME to wait for strangers to decide my fate..live or possibly die. TIME to live and get a liver. TIME to hope and figure out what’s next and I know that’s not something you can help with unfortunately. A liver transplant in California can cost upwards of $1 million, including pre-transplant evaluations, organ procurement, the transplant surgery, and post-transplant care. Any help you can give financially is greatly appreciated. This is a very scary and big burden on me, my family, our extended family, and friends but this is my last chance. My liver will fail 100% with not a long time left.
I could ramble all my labs and procedures and bilirubin, Meld score and 1000’s of others but it will mostly mean nothing to anyone who has not gone through this so I’ll spare you and just say thank you for saving my life.
