*Update* callie was placed on heart meds to stabilize her heart rate. She is responding really well. In 3 weeks she goes for another echo cardiagram and if all ia back on track, we will be able to schedule her for the TECA surgery following this. She is so happy and feeling much better already. Thank you for all your donations.
My name is Rachel and I'm asking for help with an unexpected procedure for my rescue cat Callie. Callie showed up on our doorstep two years ago. We trapped her and brought her to T.A.R.A. in Middletown to get spayed and vaccinated with the plan of re-releasing her as a feral. However, once we got her inside, we realized she was a sweetheart and she was already spayed. We tried finding her owners to no avail. Callie has had ear issues since we found her, and we have been treating it under vet supervision. However, two weeks ago, I brought her to the vet as she was digging at it more, and she was diagnosed with an ear polyp. At a second consultation for the removal of the polyp, it was found to most likely be malignant. Yesterday, we got her scanned to make sure the cancer hadn't spread throughout her body—and it hasn't. She also had an echocardiogram done to make sure her heart and heart murmur are stable enough for surgery. So far, we have spent just under $2000 in the last week on her diagnosis and treatment. She will need a T.E.C.A. surgery done to remove the mass from her ear. It is a total ear removal which will leave her deaf in her left ear. But we have no choice as the position of her polyp and the malignant nature leaves a high chance of reoccurring if we chose a simpler procedure. The surgery will be in 2 weeks if her heart is stable enough for it. If not, she will have to take a month or more of medicine to get her stable enough for the surgery. If you have $5 to help me get this surgery done, I would appreciate it. She has a lot of life left in her. She deserves to be free of pain and have a good life after being abandoned by her previous owners. It is hard for me to ask for help. But if I can get some with this, it will make my life and her life easier.
