My name is Queneesha Meyers, and I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY. I moved to Albuquerque in 2001 while serving in the Air Force. If you know me, you know how important giving back to the community has always been in my life. Over the years, I’ve hosted fundraisers through my business for Distributing Dignity, collecting bras with tags and feminine hygiene products for women experiencing homelessness. Those items went directly to local organizations serving women in need here in Albuquerque.

I’ve also made it a priority to support education — from helping provide scholarships to paying for employees’ higher education out of my own pocket. These experiences, and the recognition I’ve been fortunate to receive in publications like the Wall Street Journal, the Santa Fe New Mexican, and the Albuquerque Journal, have only deepened my commitment to lifting others as I climb.

Why I’m Asking for Support

Now, I’m stepping into a brand-new career that I’ve worked hard to reach. This opportunity means so much to me, but it comes with a challenge: during the first two months, I’ll be in training for my new position and transitioning out of town as well. Your generous donation will help to cover housing, food, travel, moving, and living expenses until a steady paycheck begins. My plan after training is to start my own non profit to continue to help those in need by providing food and other resources. This journey has already started as I have begun to take classes to become a community support worker.

That’s why I’m asking for your support. I’m hoping to raise $5,000 to cover this short period so I can focus on starting strong in this next chapter.
