Join Phil's Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer

Hello, my name is Crystal Young, and I am friends with Phil & Tammy Price. I am reaching out on behalf of them to request your support for Phil with his fight against a rare and aggressive form of stage 3 pancreatic cancer.

As you all can imagine, this news has turned their world upside down. Their plans for a June 2024 destination wedding to Tennessee and honeymoon in Aruba rapidly changed course in January 2024. It all began with vague symptoms about a year ago and rapidly became more significant. January 2024 he was admitted to the hospital where they found he had a stricture in his common bile duct that runs through the pancreas, the duct was completely closed off, so a stent was placed. In April 2024, after numerous tests, blood work and procedures they wait for the results. Through it all, Phil and Tammy tried to remain optimistic and hope for the best but as you know now the news wasn’t favorable.

Phil and Tammy’s story was just beginning – they were building a life together - they were preparing for their dream wedding/honeymoon and had to cancel these events. Even though Phil and Tammy were planning their dream wedding, medical bills are continuing to pile up and are a huge financial burden. Therefore, they decided to forgo their destination wedding and get married in the privacy of their own home with Phil and Tammy by each other’s side on April 21st. One of the treatments is a rare type of surgery, Pancreaticoduodenectomy also known as a Whipple. It’s a major surgery with a long and hard recovery. Surgery was performed June 2024 with no complications. However, after the surgery, the doctors were able to identify the pathology as stage 3 pancreatic cancer instead of cholangiocarcinoma as they originally thought. Now that the surgery is complete, chemo started Aug 12th 2024 and will continue for 6 months with future plans for radiation.

Facing cancer is daunting - emotionally, physically, and financially draining. While Phil and Tammy navigate this difficult time, we have the unique opportunity to allow them time together and allow them to focus on being a new couple without as much worry about financial concerns, not to mention the enormous impact on their story. Phil has been out of work for a while and due to his treatments he is still unable to work. Tammy will continue to need time off to support Phil throughout his journey.
