Hello.
My name is Patrick Langan.
Will you help me fight for my life? Will you help me survive?
Those who know me, know it takes a lot for me to ask for help.
What do I consider a lot?
Well, in January of this year, I noticed a bump. I did my SOP (Standard operating procedure) and ignored it saying it would go away. It did not. So after a few weeks, I set an appointment to see my doctor.
I saw my doctor and she said she didn't think it was anything to worry about and referred me to a specialist.
I got an appointment set for the specialist in late February.
In the meantime, I went and got my taxes done only to find out that the company I was employed by for about 14 months at that time, did not withhold any state taxes and I owe the state some money.
Had my appointment with the specialist and was told it wasn't anything serious and they would just go in and drain it. But they would do an ultrasound just to be sure. And the ultrasound was set up for mid-March.
In the meantime, my furnace went out at the end of the cold season here in the Midwest. So I got an estimate and was told it would cost approximately $10,000.00. Ok, I'll start saving for a down payment and finance the rest.
Ultrasound was done and nothing serious was detected. So we could proceed with the surgery and go in and drain it.
Surgery took place at the beginning of April and when I came to, the doctor told me things were not as they seemed. Instead of draining the bump they had to remove it.
I spent 2 weeks recovering and went back to work.
2 days into my return to work, I got the call, "Mr Langan, you have cancer."
I met with an oncologist the very next day and was informed that I have aggressive large B cell lymphoma. I was told this is a blood cancer and can travel wherever the blood travels.
I was set up for test after test after test, and 2 weeks later was given a treatment schedule.
I had things lined up at work for short-term disability and time off.
Shortly before I was to start treatment, we got the news that the company I was working for would be closing that location. So 5 weeks into my estimated 18 weeks of medical leave, I would be losing my income and all benefits. This week, the week of July 22nd, is my last week of income and my last week of insurance.
And now I need your help to survive so that I can fight to live.
Will you help me?
I understand that not everyone can give money, but you can still help.
You can pray for me, and you can share this page through text messaging, emails, and on every social media platform you use.
If my friends give some, and their friends give some, and their friends give some, I will have the chance to survive.
God bless you and thank you for taking the time to read my story and for your help.
The funds I receive will be used to pay out-of-pocket medical expenses, utilities, house payments, home and auto insurance, taxes, furnace, groceries, and more.
Sincerely,
Patrick J Langan
