Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
My name is Parastoo, and today, I am reaching out to you with a heart full of hope but also facing a significant challenge. My son was born at just 27 weeks—much smaller and more fragile than I had ever imagined. From the very beginning, he fought to survive, and now, I am fighting for his health and future.
My son was born with a rare eye condition, and finding the right treatment for him has been a long and difficult journey. After extensive research, I discovered that only two hospitals in the world offer the specialized care he needs: Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and Bascom Palmer in Miami, Florida. Unfortunately, our visa application for the UK was denied, but the United States, with its kindness and generosity, granted us a visa so that my son could receive the treatment he desperately needed.
Today, after three challenging months in the U.S., my son has finally received the life-saving treatment he needed. However, our journey is not over yet. Navigating a foreign country alone while caring for a premature baby has been incredibly difficult. Unexpected expenses—such as accommodation and essential post-treatment care—have completely drained my savings.
Right now, we are facing a major financial hurdle:
• Due to our lack of health insurance and the complexities of international money transfers (which are even more difficult because of sanctions and my inability to open a U.S. bank account), we still owe a significant amount to the hospital.
• This outstanding debt is the only obstacle preventing us from completing my son’s treatment and returning home.
That is why, with humility and hope, I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to ask for your support. Any amount, no matter how small, can make a huge difference and bring us one step closer to finishing this journey and going home.
If you are unable to donate, please help by sharing this message with your friends and network. Every share is a chance to save my son’s vision.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
With all my love and hope,
Parastoo
