Subject: Request for Support – Humanitarian Mayoral Campaign in Berbera, Somaliland

I am writing to respectfully request your support for a grassroots mayoral campaign I am leading in the strategic port city of Berbera, Somaliland. As an independent candidate deeply rooted in the community, I am running on a platform centered around humanitarian service, peacebuilding, and protection of vulnerable populations, including refugees and asylum seekers in our region.

Berbera, located on the Red Sea coast, is not only a vital economic gateway but also a city facing significant challenges—climate-induced displacement, regional instability, and the neglect of vulnerable groups, especially migrants and returnees. I believe leadership must rise to meet these challenges with compassion, innovation, and a people-first agenda.

My vision is to lead Berbera into a new era, where:

Humanitarian values guide public policy

Peacebuilding efforts are community-led

Asylum seekers, displaced persons, and marginalized citizens find safety, inclusion, and opportunity

Youths and women are empowered through economic and civic engagement

Despite overwhelming grassroots support and a strong record of local engagement, my campaign lacks the financial resources to reach its full potential. I am humbly seeking partnerships with international organizations, diplomatic missions, and diaspora groups that believe in democratic development, conflict prevention, and human dignity.

I am particularly interested in:

Training and mentorship programs for local leadership

Small-scale campaign support grants

Media development or awareness assistance

Connections with humanitarian and democracy-promoting NGOs

Berbera stands at a crossroads. With your assistance, we can build a city that reflects the best of what Somaliland and the Horn of Africa can be—peaceful, inclusive, and proud.
