Hello, my name is Orane Daley. I am 17 years old and I attend Pasco High School in Dade City, Florida. I grew up in Jamaica where I lived with my stepmom, biological dad, and 4 siblings. At the tender age of 9, I was often bullied and picked on by my peers because I was overweight and too scared to stand up for myself. At some point, I started to hate myself.
I later transferred to a different middle school at the age of 12, and everything changed when I discovered my love for track and field. However, in February 2019, during my first season doing track and field, I broke my wrist during a long jump session. That’s when I found out track and field was more than just a sport for me; I wanted to perform, I wanted to win. Due to COVID-19, I missed 2 years of track and field. Shortly after it started to die down, my parents and I migrated to the United States where I am working hard to make my dreams of becoming a professional athlete come true. I hope you’ll help me on my journey to D1 and becoming the greatest sprinter in history. You can contact me on Instagram at @yasu_o.d.d where I often post my training videos and relatable content.
