Join Oliver's Fight: Major Surgery Ahead
Donation protected
Oliver is having major and invasive surgery in 2 weeks.
Oliver has a condition called craniosynostosis, where one or more of the sutures in an infant's skull fuse prematurely, altering the skull's growth pattern. In Oliver’s case, he has metopic craniosynostosis, meaning the suture in the middle of his forehead has fused. This can affect the development of his eyes and facial structures, restrict space for his growing brain, and result in an abnormal head shape.
Surgery is the only treatment for metopic craniosynostosis. Oliver was diagnosed while in the NICU, and was referred to Seattle Children’s Hospital. Oliver will undergo a 4-6 hour surgery. The surgeons will remove and reshape the fused section, securing it with dissolvable plates before placing it back. He’ll spend 1-2 days in the ICU and 3-5 days in the hospital afterward.
The cost of surgery, travel to Seattle, hospital and hotel stay, and post operative care is overwhelming for their family. If you’re able to contribute, thank you! Your generosity is appreciated. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing. Thank you for your support, we are all truly grateful for the encouragement and kindness!
