Welcome to our GoFundMe page in honor of Nicole Wolf. We have created this space to support Nicole and her family throughout her Breast Cancer treatment.

From Nicole:

"I found a lump in my breast on May 18th. I immediately went to see my doctor who sent me in for imaging. After further imaging and testing it was confirmed that I have breast cancer. I cannot convey the terror we have been living with since we found the lump. We have been incredibly persistent advocating for things to be done as quickly as possible and we are so grateful to be able to say that I have already been assigned a care team at UCH. I have an oncologist that is world renowned and specializes in treating women who are younger and postpartum with breast cancer. She has agreed to take my case and we are meeting with her and a team of several other specialists June 14th and treatment will begin soon after. While we don’t know exactly what treatment will look like yet, we have been told it will likely include hormone reduction therapy, chemotherapy, a mastectomy, and radiation. We’ve been told that all of this treatment can take a year to complete. My family and I will be enduring so much. It will be a long road but I am ready to do absolutely whatever it takes to ensure I can still be around for my kiddos.

Each phase of treatment will bring with it different challenges for our family. As a therapist, I will not have the emotional and physical capacity to continue with my same caseload as before and will be unable to work at times. Recovery from surgery is usually a month, sometimes more, and I will not be able to lift our baby girl during that time. I can foresee us needing meals, donations, childcare, emotional support, prayers, and more. Any donations will be put towards the cost of extra childcare (especially during chemo and surgery recovery) and medical costs over the next year.

We are so grateful and humbled by all the kind words, empathy, and heartfelt messages we have received from friends and family. We are scared, but we are strong, and we know we are not alone. We are keenly aware of how important family and friends are right now. We have already been supported in multiple ways and for that we are so very grateful.

Important Note: I never imagined I would be diagnosed with breast cancer, and certainly never imagined that I would be when I have such young kids. That being said, we ask that those of you who have children who are friends with our son to be cognizant of what you say in front of them and him, as he is a deeply feeling kid and we want to ensure he is not burdened with the fears and worries that are obvious to us adults with this diagnosis. We also have not told him anything yet and we ask that you not speak to him about it unless we have shared that it is okay to do so."
