My name is Misha and this afternoon, my dear friends Candice and Chris experienced every pet parent’s worst nightmare. Their beautiful two-year-old rescue pup, Neo, was hit by a car.

After being rushed between multiple vets, Neo was taken to a specialist who is working tirelessly to save his life. His injuries are severe — significant internal bleeding, bruised lungs, brain swelling, and an open wound in his Leg that can’t be closed until the swelling goes down.

He currently has no feeling in his hind legs, which we hope is temporary, but if not, he will need wheels to get around.

Because of the bruising to his lungs, Neo cannot be sedated, so he is spending the night on oxygen under close watch. A specialist will examine him in the morning make note of all of his injuries and to determine the next steps in his treatment and surgery.

Neo is the most loving, gentle soul—he’s been part of Candice and Chris’s family for the last year since he was rescued, but he’s brought joy and light to everyone who meets him. His rescue story was just the beginning of his second chance at life, and we are determined to make sure this isn’t the end of it.
