Let me introduce you to the most amazing young lady, Naomi Shanewise. She is an incredible student-athlete and has enjoyed playing soccer since she was 5 years old. She has grown to become a top goalkeeper in Wilmington, NC. This past year, for her school team, she earned the honors of the Athletic Scholar Award, Defensive Player of the Year, All-Conference, All-State, and Conference Player of the Year! In addition to that, she also received All-Conference honors for varsity basketball and finished her sophomore year of high school with a 4.25 GPA. Over the summer, she also got the opportunity to play a game with our local Port City semi-pro women's soccer team.

I am starting this GoFundMe in an effort to continue bringing her dream of playing in college to life. Together, we have been working tirelessly to save money for her upcoming travel soccer season that starts in August. I currently work about 70 hours per week between 2 jobs to try and pay off credit cards from past traveling and to save for future expenses. Naomi has joined me in contributing to our goal with a part-time job, and she has also started walking dogs to add to our soccer fund. Alas, I fear that I will have to send her on trips across the country without me again this year because no matter how many times I crunch the numbers, there just isn't enough. It broke my heart last year getting phone calls from Arizona or Missouri from her, and all she wanted was a hug from me after her games. All I could do was say I'll work more, and we would count down the days until she was home again.

Lately, we only get to spend a couple of hours a week together when we both happen to be home at the same time. I am asking for help in supporting Naomi with her travel needs, and hopefully, we can raise enough so I can be there with her to provide the mom hug after every game. I only have 2 years left with my baby girl before she goes off to college, and I would love to share in her victories and be her shoulder to cry on when the games are extra tough. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and all my daughter has is me, so I'm asking for some village help. Thank you!
