On March 1st, I’ll be taking on the Tokyo Marathon, but not just as a runner chasing the finish line of my 4th Major Marathon, but as someone running with purpose. I’ve joined the race through the official charity program, pledging $1,700 to support Peace Wanko Japan, an incredible organization dedicated to rescuing and protecting homeless dogs and cats, finding them loving homes, and building a future where no healthy animal is euthanized.
Because the program requires the pledge to be paid immediately, I’ve already donated the full $1,700 directly to the charity. That means every dollar has already gone toward saving lives and giving vulnerable pets a second chance.
Now, I’m inviting friends, family, and supporters to join me in this journey by helping offset part of that pledge through this GoFundMe. Contributions here go directly to me (not to the charity) to help reimburse what I’ve already paid. While these gifts are not tax-deductible, they carry just as much meaning — showing solidarity for animals in need and for the miles I’ll cover on race day.
Thank you for being part of this mission, for cheering me on, for supporting homeless pets, and for believing in the power of running for good.
