Hi,

My name is David Shteyngart and I am from Ottawa, ON, Canada. I am truly passionate about Figure Skating, it is my life. My story is simple, I fell in love with this sport when I was 7 and I cannot imagine myself without ice. When other kids were asking Santa for toys I was asking for skates and jumps.

I am international junior level skater now and I have already represented Canada 3 times for the past one and a half year (in Italy, Latvia and Japan). I am Novice Champion of Canada 2022 (Men U17) and Skate Canada Next Gen Team Member.

My goal is to become one of the best athletes in my sport, and I need your help to turn the impossible into a reality.

To excel, I need to be constantly push my limits. I work very hard, 5-8 hours daily. I am very disciplined and focused on my goal. To be better in skating I do competitive dance, at the end of the day when everyone goes home to rest, I go to dance academy, it helps me to perform and show not just an athleticism but an artistry as well. Everyone says I am very talented, I hope they are right. But unfortunately being goal-oriented talented hard-worker is not enough, the road to success is very pricey.

My mom and I ran numerous fundraisings and I work as much as I can so I can cover at least something.

I would like to help my mom and relief financial stress, as we are barely meet ends with constant need to pay for training, equipment, costumes, choreography and competitions. Just ice and coaching expense are over $100 daily. Each competition is $1000+. This year I will need to travel to Winnipeg and Calgary and this adds more to my skating bill. I need help to survive this season and hopefully to stand on the podium in January.
