Dear Warrior-In-Battle-with-Me,
In the middle of my classroom filled with students eager to learn I became short of breath and COULD NOT BREATHE. I could also hear an awful wheezing sound coming from my 43-year old body. Who would have ever thought it was a rare and deadly lung cancer with very few treatment options available? Whereas that was 10 years ago, I'm still alive fighting cancer but I need a dependable vehicle that will keep me traveling back and forth to my medical appointments 244 miles per week.
To hear the words that "You can go home today" from one of my oncologist on my care team is absolutely refreshing when you don't know if a clinical trial will work for you or not. Trying new treatments such as NVL655 is a miracle in itself after fighting a rare and non-smoking related Stage IV lung cancer for years now.
My traveling, too, and from Stanford Cancer Center has increased to a little over 976 miles per month due to the new clinical trial NVL-655. This is my best option right now to keep fighting Stage IV cancer. Living longer and fighting cancer financially is one of the greatest mental battles a person can endure in today's economy. Again, I do not wish to be a burden to anyone. But I can't do this alone. As a retired teacher, I am a giver, but this time, I stand in the need of secure, dependable travel care.
When you help me raise funds to secure transportation for my medical journey, you are helping research find treatments and cures for this rare lung cancer. Please help me raise $3,000.00 for my travel for treatments and cancer care.
Thank you,
