If you haven't seen me in a while it is because I have Multiple Sclerosis. I started to have symptoms in 2016 and received a diagnosis in January of 2021. I went from being athletic and involved in sports well into my 30’s, to only being able to walk a couple of blocks pre-diagnosis and now, at 44, being nearly completely disabled. I thought that I could "stay normal " after the diagnosis with the help of the Cleveland Clinic and physical therapy, but that is not the case. I have mobility issues to the point where I need a walking aide, or rollator, to get around both inside and out. There is a very strong likelihood that a wheelchair is my not-too-distant future. I refuse to go down without a fight, so I have decided to take my treatment in a different direction and go to the Ruiz Clinic in Puebla, Mexico, for stem cell replacement therapy. Here is a link to the facility: HSCT México. It will be a long process where I will receive chemotherapy as well as a procedure for stem cell removal and replacement. If successful, the new cells will regenerate and repair the damage or scarring that has been done to my brain and spinal cord.
