Hello,

My name is Melani Gutierrez (affectionately known as Mrs. G at the high school I am employed at). I have worked in my town at the high school for going on 18 years as the Student Support Coordinator. During my time, I have met numerous students that I have championed for and supported. I have done it wholeheartedly and with sincerity. I have fallen in love with them and consider them my own children.

Four years ago, I met Jordyn. From the first meeting, she captured my heart. Her infectious smile and mild demeanor won me over. This young lady proved to be an excellent student, person, big sister, athlete, and daughter. We have had many conversations regarding her career goals, life goals, and college goals. Her biggest dream was to play basketball at the college level with hopes of the WNBA.

Jordyn’s family has not had the best of times. Jordyn lost her dad at the tender age of 5. This led to some events in which they have suffered hardships. This is through no fault of their own. This young lady’s dream of playing college ball is on the line. Honestly, it may not happen without your help. Jordyn has moved onto campus, with no guarantee of being able to stay. We want to make sure she does!

100% of all funds raised for Jordyn will go directly to her tuition, housing, books, food, and other supplies. Any leftover funds will go into a trust until she graduates.
