Our sweet friend, sister, coworker and so much more is going through the unimaginable right now. While visiting one of her bucket list travel destinations, Molly became sick with what doctors in Spain assumed was tonsillitis. The doctors gave her antibiotics and steroid injections overseas, but her symptoms continued to worsen. Molly was finally able to make it home to US soil and immediately went to the emergency room in Colorado. After spending a week in the hospital in Colorado, the doctors were unable to diagnose and care for her, so she flew back to Dallas with her mom as soon as she was stable.
Days after arriving in Dallas Molly’s symptoms worsened and she was unable to breathe and was rushed to the emergency room. After dozens of tests, a bone marrow biopsy, a lymph node biopsy, a Lymphadenectomy, and 2 more weeks in the hospital, she was ultimately diagnosed with Stage 3 Large B Cell Lymphoma. Large B Cell lymphoma is a fast growing and aggressive form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma that normally affects much older patients. Given the severity of this diagnosis Molly immediately started making arrangements to move back to Dallas so that she could continue to receive life saving treatment and have the support of her family around her.
Molly is fighting for her life as she undergoes chemotherapy which will be potentially followed by radiation. On top of emotional support, one of the best things we can offer is financial help.
Why is your financial support so important?
Molly would never ask for help, let alone money. However, we know the upcoming expenses will be large in addition to the physical, mental and emotional toll that accompanies a diagnosis like this.
We are targeting $20,000 to help cover the below items over the next year:
◦ The cost of moving her things from Colorado to Dallas
◦ Specialist medical appointments and treatments
◦ Regular cleaner and appropriate cleaning products (chemo comes with a very high risk of infection)
◦ Cranial prosthesis (wig) and specialist skin products
◦ Other medical costs associated with testing and this diagnosis
Any amount will help her at this time and it is so appreciated. We will provide updates on Molly’s condition as we get them.
