Join Mike Sobczak's Village in His Battle

Hello, My name is Adrienne and this Go Fund Me is for our friend and coworker Mike Sobczak.

On 3/21/2024 Mike was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer, after discovering a tumor on his butt cheek. He will be starting chemo and radiation on 4/22 and has a 6-week treatment plan. It is unlikely that he will be able to continue working during his treatment and for at least a couple/few weeks after his treatment is complete as it is a pretty rough regimen. While he does have health insurance, he will still have to pay at least $4,000 out of pocket in copays before he meets his out-of-pocket maximum for the year. As a full time parent, Mike is 100% financially and emotionally responsible for his 13-year-old son Mason. He, Mason, and their dog Gizmo live in West Duluth. Mike will be using the proceeds from this Go Fund Me along with his own money to pay for his uninsured medical costs, rent, and other expenses he incurs during his treatment and recovery. While he is very frugal, these expenses add up quickly and are more than he can handle on his own. Sometimes it takes a village. Thank You for being a part of his and mason's village.

Mike has been a dedicated employee and friend of Loll for 10 years. We have watched him grow into adulthood and single parenthood. Mike puts love and passion into all his actions and is loved by many here in Duluth.
