Join Michelle's Journey Towards Recovery

Michelle Wartenberg, a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, and friend who always had a positive outlook on life, enjoyed spending time with her three teenage children and doing home projects. In November 2023, she went from “normal” living to having pain in her body, numbness in hands and feet which led to the inability to walk. After extensive lab tests, MRI’s, specialist office visits, she was diagnosed with three autoimmune diseases, Churg-Strauss, Vasculitis, and Sjorgens. Now instead of days at work and enjoying time with the kids, her days are filled with Occupational/Physical therapy, doctors’ visits with her specialists, medication treatments, and EGPA infusion therapy.

What once seemed like an easy daily task is now an insurmountable challenge. Her family and friends have been a great support system to assist with normal daily activities that Michelle is unable to perform. Unfortunately, this also means Michelle, who is a single mom of three teenagers, is currently unable to work her full-time job since December 2023 (still unknown when she can return to work). This loss of income has been devastating on the household. It has now been almost six months and while recovery is going well, she still has a long road to recovery and the ability to live daily with these conditions.

The medical bills associated with her treatment after insurance has paid is beyond imaginable and she will need continuous treatment as there is no cure for these autoimmune diseases. This unexpected turn in her life has given her financial challenges that a person trying to recover should not have to worry about.
