Join Me on the Way: Alana's Pilgrimage Across Ireland
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, community,
This September, I’ll be walking 225 miles across Ireland over a 3,500+ year old pilgrimage route — one of the oldest known walking paths in Europe.
For me, this is more than a long-distance trek; it’s a personal rite of passage. A way to mark the end of a long chapter filled with intense change, caregiving, loss, and deep inner work—and to step fully into a new phase of life rooted in clarity, joy, and purpose. I'll also be celebrating my 35th birthday while walking the Way on September 24th, which feels especially potent and perfect as I move into this next chapter.
Over the last 5 years, I’ve navigated significant personal loss, was a caregiver to a beloved family member, showed up for my community through a devastating natural disaster, and undertook the quiet labor of rebuilding myself from the inside out after so much letting go.
Now, I’m called to walk as a way of laying it all down. I’m called to walk to reflect, release, and return to myself, one step at a time.
This journey is a chance to honor all that has brought me to this point and intentionally step into this next chapter. It’s a chance to move forward by walking with purpose, listening deeply, and reconnecting with what truly matters. This walk will mark the end of a cycle defined by survival, grief, and growth—and the start of a new era of sovereignty, service, and deep soul alignment.
Pilgrims around the world have relied on the kindness and support of others to carry them forward. This journey is no different. Though I walk the miles with my own two feet, I walk them on behalf of something larger—on behalf of all those that have struggled and triumphed and come back to themselves stronger and more compassionate.
As I step more fully into a life of service and alignment, I’m asking for support in crossing this final threshold back to myself.
How You Can Support:
I’m inviting support from friends, family, and community to help me walk this path with the resources I need. My fundraising goal will help cover:
- $2,000 – Remaining program cost (24 days of lodging & meals)
- $1,000 – Trail gear and walking food (shoes, pack, layers, etc.)
- $500 – Travel in-country + buffer for unforeseen needs
Ways to help:
- Donate what feels right—every bit helps
- Share this with someone who might resonate
- Connect me with gear or discount codes
- Send words of love, cheer me on, witness this journey
My whole life, a big part of me believed that I had to do it all on my own. Asking for help—especially for myself—has always felt like a terribly tender kind of risk. I’m far more used to showing up for others, advocating on their behalf, holding space, and offering care outwardly.
This time I’m choosing something different and showing up fully—as myself and for myself, and inviting you to join me on this path.
Whether you’re able to give financially, share this with others, or simply witness me in this moment of becoming—thank you. Your support in any form means the world and I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you.
With big love and gratitude,
Alana
