One breath, one dream…
Since I was a child, I’ve spent most of my free time in the water — swimming, diving, and challenging myself to hold my breath just a little longer each time. That love for the water never faded; it only grew stronger over the years.
I followed that passion into my career as a Marine Engineer, spending months at sea, surrounded by the deep blue. Whether I’m in the water or on it, this is where I feel calm, grounded, and truly happy. In today’s fast-paced world, that sense of peace is something many people are searching for.
Freediving gave that feeling a deeper meaning. While training in the pool in the Netherlands, I discovered that my ability — and love — for breath-holding had never left me.
I decided to pursue freediving competitively, and during my very first competition, I broke the Dutch National Record in Dynamic Bifins with a distance of 191 meters. That moment filled me with so much joy and strength that I knew I wanted to keep going.
Beyond competition, I feel a strong desire to share my story with the world — to show others what freediving can offer. I want to inspire people to find themselves, and to discover strength, calm, and peace in the water. If I can be an example, or help even one person on their own journey, that would mean just as much as any result.
Now, my dream is to compete in the AIDA World Championship this year in Budapest — and for that, I need your support.
If you’d like to be part of my journey and help me reach the World Championship, any contribution is truly appreciated. The funds will go toward participation fees, travel costs, and essential equipment.
Pursuing a professional sports career alongside a demanding job in the Maritime Industry requires a great deal of perseverance, discipline, and inner strength. It’s not always the easiest path, but it’s one I deeply believe in.
Thank you for being part of this journey!
