Tashi Delek everyone,

This July, I’ll be cycling approximately 300 miles from Brighton to Paris to celebrate His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday—and to honour the memory of my beloved mother, Tsering Dolkar, who would also have turned ninety this year. My mother was taken from us far too soon in an accident. I can’t think of a more fitting way to commemorate both milestones than by pedalling for a cause that was close to her heart and remains close to mine.

I’m riding in support of Tibet Relief Fund of UK, one of the oldest and most respected charities dedicated to Tibetan welfare. Founded in 1959, TRF has been providing life‑saving emergency aid to newly arrived Tibetan refugees in Nepal and India. Over the decades, they’ve also championed programs that promote self‑sufficiency and sustainability—everything from schools and vocational training to women’s health clinics and youth employment initiatives.

Your donation truly matters. Even £10 can provide textbook and uniform supplies for a student in exile; £50 can fund a month’s worth of medicines at a health clinic; £200 might underwrite vocational training for a young adult seeking employment.

With gratitude and love,

N Dhargyal
