In the last 2 years my health has declined rapidly. I have tried my best to hide most symptoms and continue on as usual, but alas, I've reached the breaking point.
Thursday, May 21 I had to leave work due to loss of mobility in my right leg and severe pain throughout my back, abdomen, and entire right side of my body and seek emergency medical care.
I have several injuries in my back and will be visiting with the surgeon on Monday for the next plan of action. Through my initial examination and imaging at the emergency room, it was discovered that I also have a fast growing growth on my left ovary which is causing pain, irregular bleeding, and fluid retention in the abdomen. Upon even further investigation, my doctors and I narrowed the time frame in which it grew down to less then 7 months or it would have been caught on previous imaging I have had for several of my other conditions that are still being thoroughly investigated for diagnosis.
I am taking my pride and setting it aside as I create this in hopes of receiving some help. Medical bills, co-pays, living expenses, prescriptions, transportation to and from appointments...
Over these two years I have had:
•Multiple injections
•2 trial medications
• 2 neurological shock tests
• a dozen X-rays
•steroids to the point I have become allergic and suffered a horrible reaction
•surgery to remove other growths I have struggled with
•physical therapy
•extensive mental health therapy
I have also seen:
• 2 Pulmonoligists
• a neurosurgeon
• 2 neurologist
• 2 pain specialists
• a new PCP
• 2 general surgeons
• 3 physical therapists
• a sleep specialist
• a hand and upper extremity specialist
•2 mental health therapists
•1 psychiatrist
• atleast a dozen doctors between urgent cares and emergency visits
As of now, I am facing the following:
• Neurosurgeon visit for the mobility issues
• Another neurological shock test for both arms from another neurologist
• 8 different panels of blood testing for suspected auto immune disorders
• Additional blood work to continue monitoring normal levels through trials
• Continuing with my hand and upper extremities specialist
• My gynecologist
• Gynecologic Oncologist
• Mental health therapy
• Psychiatrist
These have been ongoing issues for almost 3 years. I have finally met my match. I am only 29 years old. I still want to experience motherhood. There are places I want to see and others I just want to go. I want to seek a degree in social work to make a difference. I just want to be able to get the help I need medically in order to continue with these goals...
