Hey folks! If you’ve know me for a while then you know that I’ve done numerous mission trips around the world in the past and it’s been over 7 years since I’ve last been on one. Well, an opportunity for another one very last minute may have presented itself to me. My church supports some workers who live in Southeast Asia and they spoke this past Sunday while they are back in the states for a short season. Man, I cannot tell you how moved I was hearing about what God is doing in their part of the world. Specifically hearing about the power of prayer in that country. God has really accomplished a lot in my heart this year and one of those ways He did it was through prayer. I have been attending morning prayers sessions twice a week at different homes across our church and have seen an overwhelming growth and love for prayer through that. Well, this family shared that a few years ago God put it on their heart to have a prayer room in their country. When the Lord provided a location for them to have this they began to pray and see God move mightily through this. As they were sharing, I sensed “what would it look like if I went there and just joined them in prayer?” even for just a short time and on such a short notice I know God can move mountains. As my time in the Marine Corps comes to an end and I start looking at police departments in the DFW area, I will have about 6 weeks between when I no longer will go into work before a police academy would start. With this, and what God has done in my heart this year through prayer I am going to take steps towards visiting this family sometime in either mid or late December this year. As this is not an official trip with my church or an organization I do not have a set goal to reach but I figured I would at least ask my friends and family to pray about giving some support to cover my flights and other expenses. I am prepared to cover the entire cost out of pocket if that’s what it takes to go but also don’t want to rob anyone of the joy of giving! And of course, God closes the door on this, all the money will be refunded to those who gave and any money left over would go to direct support of the family in SEA.
