Hello, I’m Matt Houle, and I'm once again facing a formidable opponent. After conquering it alone the first time, I find myself in need of your support to help me through yet another challenging journey.A few months ago, I faced my first battle with kidney cancer. It was a lonely and grueling experience, intensified by financial strain as my condition made it impossible to work. Despite these hardships, I pushed through with determination and a hope for better days. The recurrence of cancer has not only brought back the physical and emotional pain but has also reignited the financial challenges I face. The treatments I need, including surgery and potential follow-up therapies and without the ability to work, every day is financially as well as physically taxing.

 

I am asking for your generosity to help me raise $7253, which is crucial for:

* Covering my medical bills, including costs of surgery, medication, and any unforeseen treatments

* Supporting my basic living expenses, as my condition prevents me from earning an income

I don’t drive or have friends that will drive me to my appointments or even just to the hospital, so donations will be used for transportation along with food and accommodation when needed. I have spent well over $10000 on top of travel grants over the past year just in hospital trips. My surgery was done in Thunder Bay, nowhere near my home, and didn’t have anyone to come so I had to pay someone to come, accommodation, food and taxi for said person, just to be ripped off and left alone in hospital. Now I get to do it all over again. Hopefully not so many hospital visits or Thunder Bay trips but it’s not looking good so far with 6 trips to Elliot lake and Sault Ste. Marie since surgery in April. Regardless it’s gotta be done so I have to find my way somehow. I have no help otherwise. I have been trying to work but like I said I spent the last year in hospitals and fell behind and won’t be able to work for a bit more. I’ll take any suggestions on jobs as well.

p.s…I’ve spent the better part of the last 14 months in the hospital the bills are stacked but

 funds will be used for hospital trips food and accommodations, catching up on last trip to Thunder Bay for surgery, back and fourth to hospital 3 times a day in a taxi along with someone that has to accompany me and all their accommodations food and travel.

I don’t have a vehicle, I don’t have friends or family that will drive me as they have lives and jobs, but I gotta get it done for my kids otherwise I don’t think I would have been doing any of this.

Finally got a couple answers anyway, why is my weight fluctuating 10-15 pounds so often and so fast, why I feel like garbage everyday from when I get up till I go to bed no energy no appetite. Can’t lay on either of my sides, I get a sharp stabbing pain in my incision that stays for a long time along side my rheumatoid arthritis filled hips (hip replacement soon, one thing at a time here) so basically it’s a painful struggle just to get out of bed let alone go all day. I want to go see a dietitian maybe they can help me out energy wise and gaining weight because I really can’t afford to eat as much as I should eat as it, but if we can control my vitamin intake and all that jazz I might be ok. Recently applied to volunteer at the local food bank in town to donate my free time, and I will be searching for more volunteer opportunities in town so let me know if I can assist, or point me in the direction to volunteer where needed thank you. (Even if you live alone and need someone to help you in your garden or around the yard I’m here. Other than that I’ve been sitting around nervous and worried so I’d love to spend my time elsewhere keeping my mind occupied as it numbs the thoughts when my hands are busy. Please feel free to share it as it might help me a little seeing how I didn’t get my new screen for my phone so that’s been broken for 2 weeks now I think, but will be back up soon. As a friend purchased me a new screen saying it’s essential and absolutely need a phone now.
