Join Matthew's Mitzvah Project for Sweetbriar Nature Center

Hello, my name is Matthew LaPenna. Since I was a little boy, I have always had a passion for animals. Nature Centers that offer animal programs, events, and wildlife rehabilitation are very important to me.

I am a member of the Environmental Club at my school. Throughout the year we raise money to purchase supplies and deliver them to a Nature Center in Smithtown called Sweetbriar Nature Center. During my visits to the nature center, I was in awe of the amazing work that they do. Sweetbriar rescues wild and domestic animals that are injured or in need of a home. They will nurse an animal back to full health, and if possible, release the animal back to its natural habitat. If the animal is not able to be released, they will provide a wonderful and caring home to be used to help people learn about the animals.

I have learned so much from visiting Sweetbriar. That is why I want to help this amazing place grow and provide them with the supplies they need to continue their mission.
