My name is Matthew, and I never thought I would be in this position. I’ve recently been diagnosed with two types of cancer—thyroid cancer and melanoma. I have four tumors on my thyroid, and my doctors tell me that I need radiation and chemotherapy to survive. Sadly, my insurance will only cover a portion of the treatment, and the rest is far beyond what I can afford.
I grew up in a small town just south of Detroit. I’ve worked hard my whole life, but now my savings are completely gone. I’ve always been the one to give whenever I could—donating to others on GoFundMe, never imagining that one day I would be the one asking for help.
Today, I humbly come to you with an open heart. I don’t want to die at 39. I still have so much life left to live, and I’m praying that there are kind, compassionate people out there who might find it in their hearts to help me fight this battle. Even the smallest donation could bring me one step closer to the treatment I need—and one step closer to hope.
God led me here, and I believe it’s because there are good people in this world who lift others up when they’ve fallen. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my story, for caring, and for any help you can give. All funds will go to the cost of treatment.
