Help Me Record Handpan Medicine Melodies — My First Music Compilation

Hi friends, I'm opening a vulnerable door to share something very close to my heart.

As a curious person, I have always been drawn to learning, exploring, and discovering more about myself and the world. Along the way, music, especially the voice and the handpan, has been my medicine.

These sounds have held me through grief and joy, travel and stillness, and all the changes in between. They’ve taught me trust and discipline, and inspired me to keep creating, even when it took many months for a single song to come to life.

I like to believe that some of these melodies have touched others too. I’ve sung them into waters, forests, and fires, in sacred circles and quiet living rooms, at retreats and workshops... and even once in Carnegie Hall (yes, somehow that happened!)

As someone who plays by ear and doesn’t know music theory, I’ve often questioned: What does it really take to call yourself a musician? Are these songs worthy of sharing?

A friend once told me: "You are a student of music. And to create something beautiful but never share it is like having a gift for someone and never actually giving it."

So after many moons of wondering, I’m finally ready to deliver the gift!

The Vision:

I’m recording Handpan Medicine Melodies, a collection of medicine songs that weave handpan and voice.

Many are my personal interpretations of songs that have touched me, cover songs I’ve reimagined through the handpan.

I’m still learning what’s required legally to release these covers, and I want to do it with integrity and respect for the original artists.

If you have experience with cover licensing, music distribution, or legal advice, I’d deeply appreciate your guidance.

Part of my dream is also to invite other musicians to collaborate. I want this album to carry not only my voice and handpan, but the shared spirit of collective music-making.
