Support Mallori's Cancer Fight

This fundraiser is for our beloved Mallori Matousek. In December 2023, Mallori was diagnosed with Triple-negative breast cancer. Mallori’s treatment plan was to remove the triple negative cancer by undergoing a lumpectomy, followed by radiation and a PET scan in the fall of 2024. To Mallori, something did not feel right. She could feel there was something else going on the left side, but doctors told her the breast MRI showed it was just a cyst, and there were no other concerns. After completion of the lumpectomy, her doctor informed her that there was still some cancerous tissue discovered during testing, and they needed to perform a second operation before proceeding with radiation. Knowing something was wrong, Mallori’s intuition kicked in and asked to put everything on hold until they completed a PET scan. The results of that scan confirmed there was cancer growing on her left breast, and also spotted lesions on her cervix that later were confirmed to be stage 2b cervical cancer. Due to the stage level, getting a hysterectomy as a means of treatment was not an option. As you can imagine, getting this type of prognosis at the young age of 36 was unexpected and heartbreaking. With extensive reviews and feedback, Mallori has been attempting to fight her diagnosis through a more holistic approach and non-western medicine. The initial intention of this GoFundMe was to raise money for a holistic cancer treatment center outside of the US with a price tag ranging from $50-$80,000, not covered by any insurance.
UPDATE 12/8/2024: After a recent PET scan to review her condition, Mallori was informed her cervical cancer has progressed to stage 3C (almost stage 4) with metastasis to the lymph nodes by her kidneys. Over the past few months, Mallori has been struggling with lower back pain, fatigue, and abnormal and heavy bleeding, which has caused iron deficiency issues requiring infusions and constant monitoring of her blood levels. As mentioned, because of her cervical cancer stage, she is unable to undergo a hysterectomy. Chemo and radiation are an option, but weighing the pros and cons for her, Mallori would prefer a good quality of life while she is still here and to keep her spirit in a good spot. While not everyone may agree with that decision, it is the journey that resonated with her best.

Mallori is a daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, dog and monkey mom, and friend. She has always been a kind and caring person, helping others where she could, including fostering pugs for the AZ Pug Rescue. Her unique, infectious laugh can always be heard at family events, holidays, and gatherings of friends. Mallori dedicated much of her life to helping others manage parenthood by nannying for multiple families and providing personal assistance and home management services.

Through this health battle, Mallori has remained mentally resilient and strives to find joy each day, no matter what comes up. She begins and ends most days with a walk outside to enjoy the healing powers of the sun and nature and has motivated others to the importance of getting outside each day and walking for your physical and mental health. She is and has been an inspiration and friend for those who have/are struggling with substance abuse and helped multiple people find their way to sobriety.
Mallori is not giving up. This GoFundMe will still be used to help Mallori fight her condition through natural supplements/herbs, keeping an alkaline body, holistic protocols, diet, and exercise. Additionally, donations will also help Mallori with living expenses, as her ability to work changes daily. Mallori believes everything is as it should be and is at peace with it all. We thank you for your generous support through donations and prayers.
