Join Maize's Fight Against Hip Dysplasia

Hi guys, I’m Mazikeen, most just call me Maize but when I get the zoomies, they call me crazy maizey! I am almost 4 years young, and love all kinds of adventures, especially ones that involve the sunshine and some water but the snow is fun too!

Recently my mom noticed me walking funny, then eventually not being myself and running after the ball at full speed (which I LOVE doing) we would go everyday after she got off work! So here came all the doctor visits, radiographs ect. Turns out, I have severe hip dysplasia and I need a total hip replacement. Shocked my mom quite a bit and made her really sad for me. The doctors said it’s probably a genetic condition or malnutrition when I was a pup, well that would make sense….i was left alone in a dump yard until an awesome foundation found me in Mexico called street dog hero, which then brought me to Bend Oregon, and then to my new mom who fell in love with me at first sight, not sure why because I loved eating pinecones (little did she know I liked shoes too ). :)

Anyways, really long story short…my mom has been putting in extra hours at work to pay for my surgery. I overheard her say it’s $14,000 and she is $3,000 short. Her sister told her about this site but I decided to do it for her to try and help! She knows I need it in order to be the dog I want to be as I grow up and she kinda needs me to stick around and smile, cause that makes her smile.

We are both stubborn when it comes to asking for help, but love helping others. In this case, we need a little love and support! Anything helps and is incredibly appreciated!
