My granddaughter’s name is Madison Suchecki and she is 24 years old. After a bad car accident on November 29th she had an MRI of her head to assess her injuries there. It showed a tumor in her brain. After a specialized MRI with a neurosurgeon, it was determined it was a malignant brain tumor.
She met with the neurosurgeon April 10th in Scarborough and he explained that it was in a very precarious place in her brain. It is close to the part of the brain that controls motor movement and in front of the part that controls speech. Therefore, it is a delicate surgery, part of which she will have to be awake so the doctor can be sure he doesn’t cut too close to those two sensitive areas. After she recuperates she will need chemotherapy and/or radiation.
She does not have health insurance and will not be able to work for several months. Before the surgery, she cannot work. The operation will take place on Friday, May 16th at Maine Medical Center. She is scared, naturally.
Asking for help is uncomfortable for her. But the stress of not being able to pay her bills is causing her unneeded stress.
Any help you give her would be very appreciated, along with your prayers and positive thoughts.
