Join Madelyn's Fight Against Brain Cancer

Hello, recently my daughter Madelyn was diagnosed with brain cancer, more specifically oligodendroglioma.

On Feb 22nd, 2024 she experienced her first seizure out of nowhere and was rushed to the hospital. After receiving the diagnosis of brain cancer, the removal surgery was only four days later on Feb 26th. The surgery only removed about 40% of the mass and she is undergoing Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy to shrink the rest.

With Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy on the horizon, the doctors brought up the terrifying details of her long-term health effects none of our family saw coming. An operation to remove and store her eggs was performed to maintain her ability to have children as the radiation has serious effects on fertility. After many sleepless nights of injecting my daughter's stomach with needles, the operation was also thankfully successful. The cost of this operation, of course, comes along with a regular storage fee.

As treatment continues with regular two-hour trips to and from the hospital, Madelyn continues to make me proud with her strength and bravery in these dark and confusing times. However, the medical bills are far from a small issue and much more than something her stepfather and I can handle alone. This is why we have decided to turn to this amazing website as a glimmer of hope in helping our daughter keep facing this monster with her beautiful smile.
