Introduction
Hello, my name is Lowell, and I’m sharing my story of faith, resilience, and the determination to triumph over life’s challenges. Almost three years ago to the day, I was diagnosed with my first type of cancer, and yesterday during a routine check-up, I received a second diagnosis: colon cancer. While the road has been filled with obstacles, I’ve chosen to focus on courage, hope, a belief that this journey will lead to victory and a roadmap for others facing similar challenges.
My Story
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been driven by a desire to give and make a difference in the lives of others. Growing up in Ohio, as a part of a family rooted in the Apostolic faith and giving to others: I’ve done so quietly, with no need for recognition or social media validation, simply because it felt right and had been ingrained in me from a very young age. Now, I find myself on the other side, humbly reaching out for help to continue fighting and rebuilding my life.
Since 2023, I’ve been unable to work due to my health, which forced me to pause the launch of my clothing company—a dream I had been working hard to achieve. As I’ve been navigating the grueling process of applying for disability for over a year now, I continue to wonder if it will even exist or be available after over two decades of funding the system. After being denied state unemployment last year for child care reasons (I don’t have any children) I am ineligible for unemployment or state assistance this year after being unable to work in 2023.
As if that weren’t enough, last September, Hurricane Helene severely damaged the two properties that were helping me stay afloat financially. Between medical bills, repairs, two mortgages, and daily living expenses, I’m facing challenges that no one should face alone. Now, I find myself in the deeply unfamiliar position of needing to ask for help. After spending my life offering support to others, it is humbling and incredibly difficult to put my own needs forward. But I know that asking for help requires its own kind of courage—one rooted in faith, strength, and trust that there is power in the community. Every contribution will allow me to focus on what truly matters—healing, rebuilding, and continuing to move forward with strength and purpose.
Why I’m Asking for Help:
Your support means the world to me—not because of what I’ve done in the past, but because of the spirit of hope and kindness that connects us all. I’m asking for help to cover:
• Lifesaving medical treatments and ongoing healthcare costs.
• Repairs to my hurricane-damaged properties.
• Basic living expenses, including mortgages and utilities.
Together, We Triumph Through faith in God, trust in the universe, and the inner strength I draw on each day, I believe this story will not end in struggle, but in triumph. Your generosity, whether through a donation, a share, or keeping me in your prayers, is a reminder that no one is ever truly alone.
Thank you for taking the time to hear my story and for standing with me as I face this fight. Together, we can turn these trials into a victory worth celebrating.
With gratitude and determination, Lowell
