We are Emily and Drew of Lovely and Dapper Desserts. For the last three years we have been living our dream of running our small mobile cake shop specializing in Tin Can Cakes. So far we've been selling cakes at farmers markets, pop-ups, festivals and catering. We are always asked when we will open up a shop and now we are making it happen!

Recently we were presented with an amazing opportunity to open our own brick and mortar bakery in Olympia, WA. We had been considering moving there to be closer to family and we were researching commissary kitchens when we were told about an available bakery space. Once we saw it we fell in love and knew we had to go for it.

The little bakery house is nestled on the edge of a sweet neighborhood and is across the street from several office buildings. It is exactly the type of place we have always envisioned having one day. Cute, cozy and welcoming it feels like the perfect spot for "The Lovely and Dapper Bakery"

Our vision is to create an inclusive community space where everyone feels welcomed and at home. We will of course be selling our Tin Can Cakes but we will also have a variety of delicious morning pastries, house-made granola parfaits, baguette sandwiches, coffee, tea and more. We also want to have a variety of local products for sale in the shop. Our goal is to bring all our amazing market friends along with us on our journey.

The bakery already has a lot of what we need there. Most of the larger equipment, espresso machine, etc are already there and it is already all set up to start baking out of right away. That being said there are still a lot of expenses that come with opening a bakery and we are asking for help any way you can. Whether that be sharing our story, donating money, or helping us find the equipment we still need. We appreciate you all so much and wouldn't be here without you.

Expenses this fundraiser will help pay for:

Permitting (can be over $1000 to open and then every year to renew)

Rent for the first month or two before we open

smaller equipment (listed below)

Internet and Security services

signage

hiring a barista/front of house

ingredients/supplies such as coffee cups, boxes, etc

and any surprise expenses that come up

Our lease starts February 1st and our goal is to open by March. We will still be doing pop-ups and events in the meantime as well as preparing everything for the bakery. We promise we will work our hardest everyday to create a beautiful space for everyone to enjoy.
