Join Lily's Path to Musical Excellence

My name is Lily Bostrom and I am a 23 year old musician and educator. I have just completed my Bachelors of Music in Viola Performance and Music Education, Summa Cum Laude from California Baptist University.

I currently teach in the Hesperia Unified School District to a growing music program at the elementary level, something that has brought great joy to my life.

Recently, in the pursuit of musical excellence, I was accepted into the Aspen Music Festival, which will give me the opportunity to study with some of the best musicians in the world.

I am thrilled for the opportunity to study in the studio of James Dunham, renowned violist, formerly in the Cleveland String Quartet (among many other accolades).

I hope to bring this high level of education back to my community and to my own life, bringing a love for music to the youth of our home.

I have traveled around the globe performing on my instrument. I have participated in the Sewanee Music Festival in Tennessee and the Trentino Music Festival in the Italian Dolomites, while also teaching at my own festivals closer to home.

I am hoping in my trip to Aspen, Colorado, that I will both teach and learn while I spend a month of my summer there.

Unfortunately, because I need to return to California to begin the Fall semester with my elementary students, I must leave the festival early, which prevents me from receiving any type of scholarship.

Your funds will support better music education in our public schools, and my dream of playing viola at the highest level. Specifically, this will help me afford tuition, room & board, meal plans, airfare, and private lessons in the festival.
