- Hello my name is Leomie Walton. After working for my previous employer for almost 3 years I was permanently laid off for reasons unknown to me. After looking for a job for a short while the opportunity to start my own restaurant presented itself. I have always wanted to go into business for myself. I’m currently renting out a restaurant in the South Shore area of Chicago. The space is currently being remolded which has exhausted all of my funds. I still have to buy certain equipment that needs to pass city inspection. Now more than ever it’s important for me to start a business so that I won’t be put in a position to start over from scratch again. I grew up on the south side of Chicago so I feel that this restaurant will allow me to give back to the community. A couple of things that I wanted to do is provide free breakfast during the summer for kids, because I feel that some kids only meal is during school. Another thing I want to do is have back to school giveaways. I will have a back to school party where I will give away school supplies, book bags, hamburgers or hot dogs and uniform vouchers.
