Thank you for reading Leni’s story and for considering a donation. As many of you may know, our dear friend, sister, and daughter has begun what will be a long journey of healing and to good health. On August 16, 2024, Leni was admitted to Piedmont Newton Hospital with severe abdominal pain. She was diagnosed with aggressive colon cancer which has metastasized to her liver. The wonderful staff there cared for her for a week, and then referred her to Piedmont Atlanta for more specialized care and an emergency surgery. She was at Piedmont Atlanta for a month recovering from that surgery.

On October 1, Leni had the first of a series of aggressive chemotherapy treatments which will continue for a year. Insurance coverage will remain in effect through the Family Medical Leave Act for twelve weeks. We are attempting to extend that coverage.

Writing this is both a necessity and a step outside our “comfort zone.” Leni has remained strong and is keeping a positive, grateful attitude. Please continue to pray for her strength, healing, and comfort. The costs associated with this illness and treatment are beyond her financial capabilities. They have become a towering hurdle for her and her family.
