Dear Friends,

Laura P HG passed away peacefully on Friday April 4th. She will be missed dearly. I cannot put into words how much she changed my life. She truly believed in the power of small acts of kindness. Many of you know of her love of table decor. She loved to set a table and decorate the mantle. These activities werent always easy for her. She found a way to being beauty into our home. She persevered through hard times with a smile on her face. She had the ability to bring out the best in me. Frankly, I wasn’t always at my best and she called on me to do better. Above all else she loved being a mother. Our boys brought her joy each and every day. Thank you to everyone who reached out during these difficult times. Your messages and generosity have allowed me into the vast network of friendship and supportive individuals that have come to be a part of her world. There will be difficult times ahead. Her lessons about life will not be forgotten and will guide me.

Laura Phillips Howell was hospitalized, Monday March 10 with severe pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). She is in the ICU, intubated in stable but serious condition. Laura’s husband Todd and her boys remain optimistic for her eventual recovery, but the road is long.

Laura is the kindest person. Her generosity can be attested to by the countless people that have received her “just because” gifts and messages. She has always smiled through the health hardships she’s had in the past. Even with her chronic health issues, Laura has been able to maintain part-time work. Now, with this unexpected hospitalization, the family is without these extra funds.
