We are reaching out to our community to rally behind the Almon and Carolina Cox family, who are facing a challenging time as they work to catch up financially from medical-related expenses and lost wages. They have served Western North Carolina's trees, forests, and wildlife since 2017 with their Business, Beast Coast Climbers. Almon is the CEO of Beast Coast and a certified arborist, approaching each tree with the utmost knowledge, respect, and love. Carolina is the CFO of Beast Coast and a certified Life, Nutrition, Health, and Fitness Coach who has helped thousands of folks in the area since 2015 become healthier and happier. On June 12th, Almon had an accident at work. He fell twelve feet from a tree and suffered a compression fracture of his spine - T12. Almon was out of work for the first few weeks in June and part of July.

For many years, the Cox family has volunteered with organizations like Rutherford Outdoor Coalition, Conserving Carolina, and Carolina Mountain Club. They have tended the forest around Laughing Waters, and our team has deep gratitude and respect for them and their service to WNC. This family has given so much to our community over the years, and the ripple effect of their kindness and love is immeasurable. We aim to ease some of the financial burdens incurred from Almon's fall.

Though Almon is back at work with many restrictions, the family could use our help to cover medical bills as Almon does not have private medical/health insurance. Unfortunately, Worker's Comp requires them to pay the money back within five years. It would also increase their already high premium, so Almon and Carolina decided not to use Workers Comp coverage and pay it themselves instead.)
