Hi friends,
We have currently found ourselves in one of those situations you never dreamed would happen. Our mother has been diagnosed with Stage 1 Uterine Cancer, after surgery she was then diagnosed with Stage 3 Endometrial Cancer. The full story and timeline are below if you want to know the entire diagnosis journey.
As you can imagine, and some of you may know, navigating a cancer diagnosis is overwhelming in every way imaginable. Mom has worked her entire life, however she does not have health insurance.
So far the tests, doctor visits, medications, travel to DFW and surgery have all been out of our pockets. We’ve tried other avenues of funding and most of those take a while to come to fruition or we’ve been denied.
If any of you know our mom you know how incredibly selfless she is. She’s someone who would give to you even if that means she goes without. Therefore, asking for help isn’t something she likes to do. However, as her daughters, there is no shying away from trying every possible avenue of help. We will do anything we can to make sure she has every chance to curb stomp this cancer.
We are asking, on behalf of our mom, if you can give to please do. If not, we completely understand and appreciate you taking time to even read this. Sharing this page does wonders to get her story out into the universe. Everything that is graciously donated will be going directly towards paying providers and covering costs on her behalf.
The goal will continue to grow as we are unsure of the costs in front of us. Please rest assured your contribution will go towards any current or future medical debts.
You’re appreciated,
Courtney, Christan & Bobbi (Kim’s Daughters) ❤️

FULL STORY & TIME LINE
This story begins a few months back when our Mom started experiencing lower abdominal pain. She was self medicating daily in order to keep the pain low. As someone without health insurance normally does, you put a bandaid on and hope it doesn’t turn into something bigger.
Monday, June 4 - The pain continued to grow and daily medication stopped helping. She decided it was best to go in and see a gynecologist.
Tuesday, June 10 - Diagnosis Stage 1 Cervical Cancer.
Treatment: Radical Hysterectomy. Doctor stated it was a typical diagnosis and getting the uterus would be the end of treatment.
Tuesday, July 1 - Surgery day at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital. The initial plan was a standard surgical removal of an organ and we’d be home that evening. The morning of it turned into something more. Mom’s Cancer Antigen 125 test had come back at 626.7 which is extremely high. This test changed the scope of surgery completely. We were notified prior to mom going back to surgery that the result of that test meant we were most likely dealing with a cancer that was outside of the uterus and it changed surgery completely.
Doctor went in laparoscopic first. There the decision was made to open her up from belly button to pubic bone in order to get the best view. The surgeon was able to remove the entire uterus and both ovaries. The left ovary was the size of a football and the right was enlarged as well. While there he was able to pull samples of her lymph nodes, but was unable to remove them due to severe matting. Once the surgery was over the doctor informed us that it’s apparent the cancer has spread, he took samples but he believed we were looking at two different types of cancers.
Wednesday, July 9 - Diagnosis: Stage 3 Endometrial Cancer.
Treatment: Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy
Thursday, July 24 - Second opinion via UT Southwestern. Confirmed diagnosis. Verifying pathology report to see exact plan of treatment.
UPCOMING:
Tuesday, July 28 - CT Scan
Pending - Chemotherapy Class
Pending - First day of chemotherapy
