Monday, May 5, 2025, our mom, Kim Dangler, was driving to work and began feeling off, losing control of her right arm in a scary spell that was later determined to be one of multiple seizures that day. Kim was immediately taken to the ER as our family knew something was off, fearing a stroke or something else.

Within hours at Henry Ford, they performed a CT and MRI scan and found a large mass on her lower lung and a small mass on her brain located on the “motor pallet” area of the brain. The images showed swelling, and this was the cause of the seizures. Kim remained at Henry Ford Hospital for the rest of the week as many great doctors and nurses cared for her and put together plans for her. Kim was ordered for an immediate biopsy and the insertion of a port in preparation for possible chemo. Kim was sent home and has been stable with the help of the seizure medication.

The biopsy results did come back as the oncology Dr. Hazzi expected: Stage 4 non-small cell carcinoma cancer.
Since then, Kim has been through information overload processing all of this. She was ordered to have a PET scan, colonoscopy, and advanced bloodwork by a lab in Chicago. The PET scan did not show any additional cancer, thankfully.

Kim is surrounded by an amazing team at Henry Ford and began her first brain radiation treatment yesterday to target the mass on her brain. Early June, she will begin chemotherapy to attack the cancer.
Kim has remained positive through it all and is heading into this journey one step at a time with all of her faith in God.
As blindsiding as this news is, so are the medical bills and expenses with an 80/20 insurance.
My brother Dale, my sister Maegen, and I would appreciate any and all help from friends to go towards my mom's fight with cancer.
Please pray for our mom.
Thank you.
