Join Kevin's Journey: 75 Treatments & Counting
Donation protected
Hi everyone. My name is Kevin Johnson. After a few days of discomfort, I called an ambulance on May 10th 2021. I thought my appendix was exploding. After morphine and a CT. It turned out I had a tumors the size of a softball in my colon and my liver was riddled with tumors. Stage 4 colon cancer Mets to the liver.
I’ve had 7 surgeries including a liver transplant and it still came back unless it had been lying dormant. It is now in my lungs and in my gut. My oncologist and Staff at MSK Uniondale and Hepatology at Mount Sinai, in upper manhattan have been wonderful.
Today I had my 75th treatment of chemotherapy and targeted therapy. I’ve been dealing with denials lately and just a cluster of issues one after another in the past couple of months.
I need to raise as much as I can to get from under this. Between donations, sharing this post and prayer will help me alleviate a ton of stress.
Ultimately, I’ve come this far by practicing compartmentalization, to insulate myself from being too overwhelmed. It’s been an effective tool. Speaking of insulation, you’re only as good as the people you surround yourself with. Eat well, stay determined, care for others and know that with time all of this will be a thing of the past, but it will have been defeated by an entire group effort. This im certain of.
Thank you very much for the read, and please, spread COLON CANCER AWARENESS.
