Join Gulf War Veteran Kevin's Fight Against ALS

Hello, my name is Allan Antolik, a U.S. Navy veteran and friend of Kevin Bomer.

I am humbly asking donors to help Kevin continue his fight with ALS.

I served with Kevin on board the USS Detroit from 1989 through 1991. Kevin is a Gulf War veteran and one of the most memorable sailors we had on the ship. Kevin was a larger than life character. His size and stature were only paralleled by his loyalty and gregarious personality. Kevin was also the guy that would chip in to make anything on the ship mission ready. It didn't matter if it was his responsibility or not, he was always there to help.

This is why I am asking for your help.

Help a good man who was there for his Country, friends, and family get the care and necessary essentials needed for him and his family.

Kevin was diagnosed with ALS earlier this year after having extreme weakness in his right hand and muscle spasms in his arms and legs.

He is unable to work after 23 years of working for Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) as a crew leader doing underground construction in his hometown of Glenwood, IA.

Kevin has been married for 23 years and has 4 grown children and 3 grandchildren. They are working hard to take care of him. Kevin is receiving assistance from the VA, but as we know in many complex medical situations, the benefits received are never enough to fill in the total loss of wages, time, extra equipment, and family schedule changes.

I am not a writer, just his friend; this ask is new territory for me. I don't know of any other way to help my friend than asking others to help us.
