Join Kaylee's Fight Against Cancer

Kaylee, aka Monkey, aka Wiggle Worm has cancer. She has a large mass that is growing quickly right under her anal gland. She is currently seeing an oncologist and is scheduled for her first CT and chest scan so we can see if the cancer has spread and to give the doctors a better look at that mass to prep her for surgery if that ends up being the best path forward. Three years ago almost to the day her older sister Zoe (they are not actually related) was diagnosed with anal sac adenocarcinoma and passed 6 months after diagnosis so we are waiting on biopsy results to make sure it’s not the same form of cancer. Because even though I did everything I could to help Zoe, in the end I regret putting her through surgery and do not want to put Kaylee through the same unless she has a different diagnosis and surgery is a good option with a high rate of success in extending her life.

This fund is for her vet bills and hopefully for a surgery that will remove her cancer. Right now her CT and chest X-ray are estimated to be between $800-1000 and her surgery is estimated at to be between $2.7-3.3k but the surgery estimates can change, these numbers were based on just removing the tumor if the cancer hasn’t spread and no follow up radiation.

A bit more about her:

Kaylee is an almost 11 years old cattle dog mix who represents her breed by herding everyone she sees as hers but is somehow the clumsiest cattle dog I’ve ever known. Her favorite things are wiggling in the grass, eating roasted chicken and finding the loudest squeaky toy. She’s the type of dog who is inherently loyal and never had to be trained to stay close, she always stays with her pack. She is my best friend, my little cuddle buddy and makes me smile everyday. She is the last piece of my heart after loosing Zoe and I want to give her the best chance to beat this but I simply can’t afford the vet bills on my own.
