This GoFundMe was created to support Joshua, a devoted fiancé and loving father of two, as he bravely fights Glioblastoma (brain cancer). Beaten by the system, where health insurance is not for the deadly cancer having young adults.. At just 36 years old, Joshua’s life was turned upside down by this devastating diagnosis, and our family is now facing the emotional and financial strain that comes with aggressive treatment.
Funds raised will help cover medical expenses, travel to specialized appointments and treatments, lodging, gas, groceries, and essential household bills, allowing Joshua to focus on his health and precious time with his family rather than the overwhelming financial burden.
Any donation, share, or prayer means more than words can express and helps us continue this fight together.
On July 5th, our lives were changed forever when Joshua had a random seizure in the Chili’s parking lot. He was raced to the ER where, 6 hours later, we discovered he had a baseball-sized tumor that would require an emergent craniotomy. The tumor biopsy would later tell us that Joshua, father of two and guardian of another, would have brain cancer.
Joshua was diagnosed with astrocytoma glioblastoma grade 4 at age 36. This cancer has a survival rate of less than 10%.
Joshua has endured over a year of chemotherapy, and with his latest MRI, his specialists confirm recurrence has occurred.
We now drive to the city for two days a week, as part of a clinical trial where he receives two chemotherapy drugs.
Insurance is NOT covering his neuro-oncologist in the city despite not having a local one available.
Weekly costs include:
$400 for hotels
$40 for tolls
$740 per visit
$50 for gas
+ food while there.
The research study only pays $78 per visit.
We also pay our regular bills and take care of the children. Any help is welcome, even if just $5. Prayers are always welcome also! We have a Facebook page for updates #Survivethefive-Joshua’s fight and accept Venmo/cashapp. On our page we often have fundraisers or sales.
